The work presents a modular assembly of hand-painted words on cardboard segments, where words inscribed on both sides of the beads can be combined into shifting sentences: children, parents, in uniform, bereaved.
Since the beginning of the Israel–Gaza war, the circle of bereavement has widened, mourning culture in Israel has reached an extreme, and the familiar generational roles have grown blurred. The work invites reflection on the complex reality in which we live—the daily presence of death and grief, which, through its sheer magnitude, becomes anonymous. The anonymity embedded in the text’s design points to a broader circle of loss than the one immediately familiar to us—on the other side of the fence.
